If by chance you bring a mask, wear it immediately. Do not hesitate to ask first aid from health workers who are on duty in the field if you experience shortness of breath.

2. Wash clothes and body parts that are exposed to tear gas

After you move away from the location of the tear gas fired, check your clothes and body. If your clothes or skin are exposed to tear gas, wash immediately with clean water and soap. This method can protect you and those around you from tear gas contamination that sticks to your clothes and body. If gas hits the eyes, rinse immediately by flowing clean water into the eyes for 10-15 minutes. Avoid rubbing the eyes so they don't get sore. If you help other people take off their clothes, be careful not to touch the part that is exposed to tear gas. Separate clothing that is exposed to tear gas when you wash it. If the gas contamination is severe and difficult to remove, put the clothes in plastic, then dispose of it in a B3 (dangerous and poisonous) waste dump.

4. Bathing

Take a shower immediately to cleanse your body of the remnants of tear gas that may still be attached to the skin. Rinse the entire body, including hair, using water from a shower or shower. Do not bathe in a bath, to avoid further contamination from tear gas mixed with bathtub water.
